Poem of the Chinese Wang
Wei ( 701-761 ):
Since the middle of my life
I
dedicated myself completely to Tao.
Formerly, I came to live in the mountain of
Chung-nan.
Often,
enjoyment in the heart, I wander çà and
there.
It is a magnificent thing
That to be conscious of hilmself.
When the torrent interrupts my walk
I
stop and watch the fog getting up.
I
meet sometimes a hairy inhabitant of wood.
We chat and we laugh together
Without wanting to return at home.
( Town by Chung-Yuan,
" The world of Tao ", Stock 1971, translates of " Creativity
and
Taoism ", Julian Press, New York, 1963).
